Program Summary
VSECU recognizes that rising fuel costs and tighter household budgets have made it more challenging to keep warm during the winter, so we’ve created VHeat to help ease the strain. We’ve been working hard to bring affordable home heating fuel to more members throughout Vermont.
VHeat is able to secure more favorable pricing by pooling together the thousands of gallons of heating oil and propane our members use to heat their homes and keep their families warm throughout the winter. In addition to providing reduced prices, VHeat also provides a convenient means to pay for each delivery using our VHeat Clearing Account and VHeat Credit Line.
- Annual dues are required to participate in the program. Dues are $0.05 (five cents) per gallon subscribed with a minimum dues requirement of $25. For example, if you subscribe for 1,000 gallons, your dues will be $50. Dues are not refundable.
- Program prices for the heating season end May 31, 2010.
- Participation in VHeat also provides for an easy, convenient way to pay for home heating fuel through the VHeat Clearing Account and VHeat Credit Line. The Clearing Account is a checking account that will be automatically debited after each delivery. The Credit Line will be advanced to the Clearing Account if there aren’t enough funds to cover the cost of the delivery, thus ensuring uninterrupted fuel delivery throughout the winter. Both accounts are required to participate in the VHeat program. Please note that the VHeat Credit Line is a loan and participation in this program is contingent upon credit approval.
- You must renew your VHeat contract with VSECU every year
- Pricing programs will change from year to year based on supplier offers
- Your home or business must be located in the service delivery area
- Fuel Dealers require automatic fuel delivery
- This is not a “pre-buy” or “pre-pay” agreement – billing occurs after each delivery
- Payments are automatically deducted from your VHeat Clearing Account which will be linked to your VHeat Credit Line
